The setting: Close to a waterhole in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. In a previous post I featured a little movie which showed Blue Wildebeest (also known as a Brindled Gnu – pronounced “noo” or “new”) coming to a waterhole to drink. In it you can see how they approach in single file, and then fan out as they get close to the waterhole. This is standard for Blue Wildebeest when travelling between two points – they like to move in single file (I’ll discuss that further in a future post). What happened here is that one Wildebeest was determined to continue “walking the line” and when he came across another Wildebeest standing across the “path” he started to ram it out of the way. Instead of doing something logical – like stepping around it.

You only get to vote once. Because I’m not sure if enough people will vote, I’m allowing people to pick their top TWO (2) choices. You can (theoretically) vote for yourself, but please only do so if you are convinced yours is the best caption!

This was hard, because I really liked the comment about the itchy spot, as well. Great selection, Lisa.
