Kalahari Series #4 (Big Brown Birds)

I have posted another installment  of the Kalahari Series on the Notes from Africa photoblog.

This week’s installment is Kalahari: Big Brown Birds (a.k.a raptors!). I’m going to take a break from the furry animals this week, and show some of our bird photos. During our 2009 trip to the Kalahari, we made an attempt at photographing and identifying the Kalahari birds. Not being experienced birders, it was often a case of “oh look, there’s another Big Brown Bird!” . . .

    Once again, very nice pics! Who would have thought that a desert could support so much wildlife.

    And, of course, I welcome a break from the constant pandering to mammalian lifeforms …

      No sharks in the Kalahari though! At least not in modern times.
