Thanks to everyone who entered. It has been a very difficult choice. The winner of the third Caption this . . . is
Lisa from Woman Wielding Words with the caption: ” ‘Let’s go this way!’ ‘No this way!’ Majority rules.” Congratulations!
When you spend time watching animals and birds in the bush, you often see them in amusing situations or poses. It always makes me wonder what they’re thinking. It’s so easy to ascribe human emotions to them. So I thought I’d give you all a chance to think up captions for some of the funnier photographs we have taken. The winner (which I’ll pick) unfortunately will not be getting a big prize, just have the honour of being named the winner! If you can think of a good one (or several), please leave a comment.
The Rules: (1) You may enter as many captions as you wish. (2) A Caption This winner will not be considered for the following two competitions.
The setting: Driving north of the Nossob camp (Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park) on a very cold winter’s morning, we came across these mice. They were all perched on a fallen down branch in the sun, trying to get warm.

Okay–I love Unlikely Explanations’ caption on the last photo. Frankly, I don’t know that I’m good at coming up with captions myself, but that actually makes this an even more fun series for me–if that makes sense. Again, Lisa, another great idea. Congrats to the winner!

Thanks! And thank you, Lisa. This is a fun series.
You come up with such interesting post titles, that I’d think you would come up with some pretty good captions too. Give it a try!
“♪♫We’re following the leader, the leader, the leader, We’re following the leader wherever he may go.♪♫ Come on guys, pleeeez play!”
“Hey, that’s my spot,”
“No, that’s my spot.”
“Get out of the way, that’s my spot.”
“Mom, tell him that’s my spot.”
I can almost hear them saying that. 🙂
“Do you think if we sneak off, whilst the kids aren’t looking, we might be able to pop out to the shops without the tantrums this time?”
“Now whe-e-re did I bury those nuts last autumn? I *know* it’s somewhere ’round here. Help me look, kids! The winner gets the biggest nut!”
“Net’s go this way!” “No this way!” Majority rules.
“Can’t see the forest for the trees”
I’ve been resisting this one… holding back – but I can’t hold it any longer!:
“So luv, fancy a quickie whilst the kids aren’t looking?”
“I don’t know hon, I can barely scrape enough to feed the four of them as it is… “
The two on the left speaking:
Don’t look now but did you notice what they are looking at?
or Don’t look now but did you notice that they are getting fat?
Congrats, Lisa (WWW)!
Thanks for the honor! It was fun.
