Weekly Photo Challenge: Anticipation

A lioness stalking buck at a waterhole in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. You can see the tension and anticipation in her body and eyes, but watching her we felt the anticipation too. The photos were taken in the late afternoon hence the low light conditions.

I had a similar thought. Haven’t been lucky with big cat sightings. Great captures. She looks gorgeous!

Yes, she was such a pretty cat – in good condition too. We have found that there is a lot of luck involved with big cat sightings – you have to be in the right place at the right time. This was at a waterhole in the late afternoon, when the lions are waking up and starting to hunt.

They are quite something aren’t they? Did you see her catch anything??

Unfortunately, it was in the late afternoon and Willie still had to drive a distance to get back to camp (you’re not allowed out of the camps after dark), so he had to leave at that stage. You can read the full story here.

Hi Eha! Good to see you back – did you have a good rest? These weekly photo challenges are giving me the opportunity to showcase some of the older posts.

*big laugh* Actually this was meant to be a work and exam related situation: never quite made it . . . life as complicated as yours has sometimes been: 2016 has been a day-by-day thing: 2017 better be an improvement 🙂 !
