The brief for this week’s photo challenge was to show photos of something that reminded you of this time of the year i.e. the holiday season. In South Africa it starts getting very hot around now, and a lot of South Africans have their long summer break with families going on vacations, and those of us lucky enough to live at the coast spending more time on the beach. For Willie this means going fishing in one particular spot. It is an hour’s walk away from the car park which means that the rock pools are full of life, undisturbed by human activity. The sea urchins, anemones and starfish look like holiday decorations under the sea.

An underwater garden, fascinating!
Yes, it does look like that a garden. Is there a lot of sea life along the Finnish coastline or is the sea there too cold?
These are beautiful shots of some sea life.
Thanks for visiting and for your kind comment! 🙂
Terrific photos! As someone who doesn’t scuba dive, the vibrant colors underwater always amazes me
Thanks Jackie! 🙂 And these photos weren’t even taken in deep water. Willie has a waterproof housing for his little compact camera and just stuck it under the water and snapped away.
Awesome photos and take on the challenge!
Thanks! It was difficult to come up with something because we don’t celebrate the holidays in the traditional way.
Truly beautiful pictures! I would love to be there
Thank you for visiting and for your kind comment. ☺
Different take on the challenge, and lovely photos.
Thank you! 🙂 We don’t celebrate the holidays in the traditional way, so I had to think of how we do spend our time. Thanks for visiting and leaving a comment. 🙂
